Although I've never been a superstar, I've invested a lot of time
contributing to the scene in the mid 1990s. But getting older,
building a family and working full time on a computer had its
toll: it's probably been years since I spent a whole evening in
front of my computer, except when doing my tax returns of course.
But now thanks to you, my fiancee is upset. Upon receiving Mindcandy
yesterday, I popped it inside my DVD player, oldschool side first,
and remained screwed in front of the TV screen all evening long.
That's not a geeky activity in itself, but I wasn't watching The Sound of
Music, you see. Like many women, she obviously did not dig these
"demo" things. So I'm now the proud owner of a secret weapon that
can bore some women beyond a level I couldn't possibly imagine.
But never mind women. These things once made me tick and it's great
to be able to see them again.
The design of the DVD clearly shows that it required a huge amount
of work. But seeing who done it, I couldn't have expected something
of a lesser quality from you guys. This is finally something that brings
demos to the masses, especially the older ones, and even if it breaks
the heart of a few girls, I couldn't care less.

Jim, I was waiting for you to mention how your wife had to put up with several months of her husband in the basement working late into the night on the DVD. |

I think Jim's trick was to find a kid or two to occupy his space then sneak downstairs when everyone is asleep.
