There have been a TON of orders over the past few days. All the distributors are looking for more DVD's. Because of all this we will be out of DVD's for a couple weeks...
I'll be shipping out about 300 DVD's to those who ordered early which means I'll be filling a little less than 1/2 the orders. I will also make sure Amazon has enough to fill 100-150 of their orders.
We will be doing a repress of the DVD however it will probably take 3 weeks: 1 week to print, 1 week to press and 1 week to ship. And another week to ship to the distributors.
Sorry for those who have to wait...we initially pressed 2000 DVD's and we were right on target to sell only that many.

We (GeekStuff, Norway) ran out slowly but steadily. I believe AJ tried to call you but only reached your answering-service. :) Anyways; we're looking forward to some more discs coming our way, and with TG closing in - we could be in for another surprise! :) |

Btw, I'm really eager to know this...
Does this "order Slashdotting" mean the costs are in or nearly in? How many percent of your cost will the current orders cover? |

Our production cost and Jim's cost have now been covered. Doing a repress will bring us back to the red (I imagine) but we will slowly be out of the black and should be able to fund Volume 2 fully (about $7-8k).
It cost about $7-8k to press the 2k DVD's. There is a lot more cost to a DVD then just a $2 DVD. You have the artwork, case, shrink wrap, stuffing, and shipping.

I really admire this whole thing (although I didn't get my DVD yet).
So much work, so great results... I'm really happy you'll get your money back. |

woot!
ok, so i ordered on december 27th from amazon.com, and the rest of my order is held up pending arrival of demodvd. any comments on whether a) you're sending out enough discs to amazon that they can fulfil orders made on that date or b) when you're sending the discs to amazon? i can always just say 'ship the rest of the stuff now' if i may have to wait for a repress for my orders to be fulfilled.
yay n stuff btw, the disc looks like it'll be great!

I sent 182 DVD's to amazon.com. I sent 160 of them this week via FedEx Ground. Here are the tracking number: 224463210000006, 224463210000013. FedEx said "4 days" so, if that is true then it should arrive Monday/Tuesday at Amazon. Amazon told me they had 160 orders.
I sent 17 others via US Media mail on the 7th (seems to take forever). They show they shipped 2 and have 3 in inventory. I can't figure that out but I've asked them to correct it.
