I stopped updating this database back in 2002. Some people still review demos but the database is now quite old and oudated.
The last update to this database was done back in December of 1999. For those
interested in what happened then check out the Older News section.
CD-R's will be mentioned in the NEWS portion of this database but won't be included in the database because of their
temporary status. However, a few older CD-R CD's do exist in the database.
MISC INFO/UPCOMING RELEASES:
- Dj Nova has a on-line/CD-R album out titled
Synthetic and Aestetic Transitions
which was released back in 1999. He has been composing "scene" music since 1991.
There are a lot of artist like Dj Nova releasing their music on-line these days in mp3 format. And
if you send them a few dollars they will send you a CD-R of their music. I don't plan on using
much space to promote these musicians, even if they are "scene" musicians. If they don't have
a physical non one-shot product then you won't find it in the database.
- Back In Time 3: The Next Generation - Chris Abbott over at
www.c64audio.com
has plans for three more Commodore 64 audio CD's following the the footsteps of his
original two Back in Time (BIT) CD's. If you enjoy Commodore 64 game music you will want to check
out these new and the original BIT compilations. Back In Time 3: The Next Generation is
scheduled for release in December and will contain a mixture of martial arts and sci-fi songs.
- Immortal is similar to Chris Abbott's Back In Time series except
it consist of Commodore Amiga game music. Immortal was produced by Portugese
musician Ruben Monteiro, and features Allister Brimble, Barry Leitch, Darryl Sloan,
and Jochen Heizmann. Check out
www.monteiro-music.com
for the full details on this mixed-mode (data/audio) compilation.
- Nexus 6581 is the name of the Commdore C64 game-music CD Reyn Ouwehand
is working on. This CD contains music by Reyn, including his Last Ninja intro music, Ben Daglish,
Rob Hubbard, and others. It will be released 21 June 2000. Check out Reyn's web site
users.bart.nl/~prevue/c64/c64.html
or www.c64audio.com/nexus6581
for more details.
- Nigel Bethwaite album Everhythm was release late in 1999 and consist of Nigel's
tracking works over a two year period. You can download some tracks (MP3) on-line or buy
the CD-R directly from Nigel. For more information visit Nigel's
Green Music web site.
- On the data side of the scene there is a CD-R packed full of scene disk mags now
available. Check out the
DiskMag-Pack web site
for details (in German and English). Or grab a copy of Hugu #18 for a review of the DiskMag-Pack CD-R.
- Bjorn Lynne's latest release Revive contains re-arranged and re-recorded versions of his 'hits' from
his early years. Bjorn released it to his fan base in March but the record companies won't make it available until
this summer. Visit lynnemusic.com for full
details.
- The Mindtrap CD's link to trakked.com
doesn't appear to be working. And the last e-mail I sent to the person at the link bounced. I'm leaving this in the
database for the time being.
- The TraxInSpace web page is looking slicker
and slicker each time I visit. Last I heard they were carrying some free clips of music to Remedy's Max Payne
game. They also sell a couple scene CD compilations including First Contact and Intersteller Harmony Volume 1 & 2.
I have not listed their last two CD's in the database because I do not know if they are CD-R or if they really exist.
- The Dreams 2 link has been changed to www.imphobia.org
because the link at http://nl.scene.org/dreams2/ is no longer valid.
- Aural Planet's new release Part: Second was released in March. It is the follow-up to their more mellow/ambient album Lightflow.
Part: Second picks up the pace with a more goa/trance sound. Check out the web site
Aural Planet for details in English and Polish.
- Oddeology is the name of the CD-R album by Oddjob (aka Jester / Sanity) that was completed back in 1997.
Oddjob also has several other CD-R albums including State Affairs (1998), Electroschmock (1999) and
Ego Agogo (2000) all of which are available on his
Oddjob web site.
For those interested in a professionally pressed CD something will probably be available in the 2001 timeframe.
- The AtmosphereS compilations (Moods, Cultures, and Pulses) which is produced and distributed by XSIV music contains music by
Alexander Brandon (aka Siren) and Dan Gardopee (Basehead). Check out the CD's at
Amazon.com or
Xsivmusic.com. Don't expect to find typical
Basehead or Siren music if you purchase any of these compilations. There is some controversy surrounding these albums but I'll leave
that for you to investigate.
- Here is the brothomStates web site. I read that Dune was
involved with this and/or some of the releases mentioned here.
- Djam is working on an album called Squeezed.
No release date is set.
- Lackluster Disography. Couple CD's, some
CD-R's and LP's are listed.

www.simonv.com. He use to have
a link at vivid.kosmic.org.
- Speaking of Kosmic.org Maelcum has moved much of the Kosmic
site on over to mp3.com. Kosmic Archive volume 4 1999 is now available for $14 including postage. Check out the new site for
the facts.
- Vic over at Level-D Records is in the process of putting together
a compilation CD much like audiophonik and opportunity. If you are a musician check out the site and consider
submitting your music for the compilation.
- Another scene tracker, Willbe, has a nice web page at Flavasource.com.
He has several music CD's available from mp3.com and has won several awards from traxinspace.com.
- The audiophonik CD continues to sell although sales have been tapering off a bit. Check out the
PRESS section of the audiophonik
website at fusecon.com for the latest news regarding the CD. Approximately 300 CD's remain available via fusecon.com and
even less via imphobia.org.
- For those who make it this far down the news list here is your reward. I was recently informed the Dune Spice Opera
has made its way onto the internet in .mp3 from. Since it can not be obtained in any other manner (the CD is out of print and will
not be repressed in the foreseeable future) I am including a couple links you can visit which will enable you to download the
complete mp3 CD. Check out
Dune Spice Opera mp3's and
Dune Immersive Game for links to this
games lost soundtrack.
- CD's that are sold and distributed by Zyklop will be difficult to obtain
because the site is still down.
- I updated the URL and E-mail address for the Morbid Elements Sampling CD-ROM and Vocal Elements Sampling CD-ROM.
The new URL is www.morbidminds.de.
If you know of any scene CD's left off this list or not in the database please drop
me an e-mail (dmw NOSPAM at fusecon dot com) so I can keep this
database somewhat current. CD-R's probably won't be added to the database but I will
give them a mention within this newsletter.
