POSSIBLE BOOKS

Below are a few other book ideas I've had. Currently they are all on the back burner but I hope to tackle some of them once Restaurant Horror Stories and Swimming in the Hate Pool are complete or near completion.

I get all kinds of ideas for new and exciting books. Most of which will never see the light of day but perhaps one will spark an idea in your head and you will decide to write/edit a book for the joy of writing rather then monetary success which will never likely follow.

Visionary Art: The Underground Culture of Computer Demos

Jim Leonard (aka Trixter) and I both the same idea about doing an authoritative book on demos. The hopes and dreams were to produce a 300+ page book & CD that would cover the origins of the scene, coding, graphics, music, interviews, and current demo favorites among other topics. Check out Jim's book proposal which almost got approved by a major book publisher. Unfortunately, like many great ideas, our demo book project became another pie in the sky. We both became detached from the scene and the book, along with all our great ideas, were soon a faded memory. However, not all is lost. Trixter did create a PC Demos Explained page but that is a bit obsolete. If you want to know more about demos check out the PC Demoscene FAQ page. As for me you can visit my Toxic Zombies page for my demo scene related contributions and the DOS version of the demo book I did for the Freedom CD.

Am I Rich Yet

Many people feel money is the means to happiness. Too often these people strive for material wealth and monetary gain only to realize they want more when they reach their "goals." Their riches are all around them in their friends, families, and what they have now rather than what they hope for only they are too blind to see this. Am I Rich Yet talks with a variety of people to prove or disprove the theory that money is or is not the key to happiness.

I Know You

Like Henry Rollins says in a story that can be found off my home page. In this book we talk to a variety of people who don't seem to fit in on this planet. For some it is culture shock, for others maybe it is the wrong planet. If you have ever felt cold, alone, rejected, dejected, put out, embarrassed, or you are on the wrong planet then this book is for you.

Accidental "Fuck You"

This book is in the early concept phase. It is one of those books that is edited rather than written because it tells a story through interviews with people affected by Tourette's Syndrome (a form of obsessive-compulsive disorder). How do they survive, what their outlook on life is, and their hopes are some of the topics of discussion.

How I met my Spouse

Ever wonder how some people met their bride/groom to be? I have too. In this book we hear a variety of stories on how people met their mates. The stories run the gamut from boring to bizarre with most simply being at the right place at the right time. This is a book that will make you question that Terminator 2 saying "No fate but what we make."

Suicide Solution

Is Suicide really a solution or just an easy way out? We talk with people who attempted suicide to families of suicide victims to find out what type of people commit suicide and why. Walk with us as we stroll through the halls of death exploring why more people die of suicide than we realize and why most humans have considered the suicide solution at one time or another in their life.

Through Crimes Eyes

Tag along with us as we talk to criminals to find out the why and how of committing crimes. Are the criminals scared, do they have any guilt, do they respect life? We try to answer these and many other questions about crime through the criminals eyes.

Stories from the Road

Accidents, tail gaters, drive bys, bass blasters, pushers, rock throwers, car games, racing, demolition, insurance fraud, and thieves are all a part of America's road rage culture. In Stories from the Road we explore subjects like how a jerk who flicks the wrong guy a bird can end up dead on the side of the road. Why it might not be a good idea to cut off the person behind you and many other situations that lead to an often deadly game we call road rage.

Twisted Tales

Every once in awhile my mind goes in a tailspin and I get these really wild ideas. One theme I've though about on several occassions concerns visiting funeral homes. I call it "Tour De Funeral." This is where someone, for the hell of it, visits dead people at a funeral home. Sometimes they might share in the wake meal. Or maybe they are on the lookout for gossip to see if anyone is saying anything good/bad about the deceased. Perhaps they scope out the obituaries and wait for the estate/garage sale. Looking at life from the angle of death might put things in perspective for your own life. That is why I feel, though slightly twisted, the funeral concept might be interesting to others.

Six Months to Life

Everyday people are told they only have so long to live. Six Months to Life explores what these and other people, who are not terminally ill, would do with their time left. Where would they like to go? What would they like to have? What do they want to do? Then we ask the ultimate question to ourselves "Why not do these things now?" This book explores what it takes to cross the line between being alive and living. Living life to the fullest for what little time we all have.

Bothered by Bullies

They are there, waiting at the end of the hall or the end of the street. Waiting to taunt, scare, or just pummel you. Abusing you by force or with with words. You run. Leave the scene because you are no match for them; not at your size. Bothered by Bullies is a collection of adult and childhood bully stories. It doesn't try to answer any questions but faithfully discusses the impact they have had on the writers lives then and now.
